Christina Aguilera and husband Jordan Bratman recently travelled to Guatemala to meet the beneficiaries of the World Food Programme’s nutrition programmes.
Christina, 28, is mum to one-year-old son Max and she recently travelled to the Central American country to witness the programme’s work.
While there she met a 25-year-old pregnant woman with one child already who told her that the only food she receives is from the WFP.
She said: “I wanted to see with my own eyes what hunger means. As a mom my heart just breaks when I see how young mothers like Concepcion struggle to feed their children. I don’t think I can ever forget these images.”
Christina and husband Jordan visited villages in the highlands where up to 80 per cent of the children are malnourished.
Christina added: “The people of WFP do such a great job helping hungry children and mothers. I’m thankful for the opportunity to be part of such a wonderful project and incredible team.”
