Actress Kirstie Alley has hit out at those who support Roman Polanski after his recent arrest.

Alley, 58, who is best known for her role in TV show Cheers, took to her Twitter page to condemn the director who is being held in Switzerland after he was arrested on charges of unlawful sex with a minor 31 years ago.

Alley posted messages on her Twitter page, saying: “JUST FOR THE RECORD… RAPE IS RAPE…this is one HOLLYWOOD STAR who does not CELEBRATE or DEFEND Roman Polanski… his ART did not RAPE her.”

Another message said: “THERE is NO SUCH THING AS CONSENSUAL SEX with a 13 year old girl..it is RAPE and Polanski is a Coward. HE made 2 bad choices RAPE and FLEE.”
