The price of grave-plots close to Michael Jackson’s tomb have already sky-rocketed since the King of Pop’s funeral.
A sales rep at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California, says plots around Jackson’s have already shot up by up to US$3,000 each.
Forest Lawn had been selling the plots in the mausoleum for US$7,000 each – but since Jackson was buried, they are now at least US$9,900.
And some holding private units there are looking for even more - with one person is asking US$34,000 for a double unit inside Jackson’s mausoleum.
“We’ve had a tremendous response… we’re weighing all of our options,” the owner told US website TMZ.
Forest Lawns says celebrity deaths are bound to raise the profile of the burial spot.
“When a high-profile person comes in, it can affect the prices of the surrounding plots,” the sales rep said.
