The late Patrick Swayze has been honoured by a group of dancers.

Career Transition for Dancers, which helps dancers who have been injured or are seeking a new direction with age, has bestowed its annual award on actor Swayze at a gala event in New York City.

Swayze’s wife and high school sweetheart Lisa Niemi appeared to fight back tears as she accepted the group’s Rolex Dance Award. She told the audience Swayze was now “dancing with the angels”.
