Brad Pitt was once overlooked during a red carpet event when a screaming American Graham Norton fan called out to the Irish comedian.

The hilarious incident was revealed during a taping of Good Day LA - a US morning show that airs on Fox 11.

The BBC chat show presenter was taken aback when host Jillian Reynolds heaped praise on him confessing that she is a really big fan and once singled him out when he shared the red carpet with hunk Brad Pitt.

The presenter told him: “Years ago I was covering the red carpet…you were walking down the red carpet and, of course I’m a huge fan of the BBC and I know who you are, I screamed out: ‘Oh my God! Graham Norton!’

“And Brad Pitt was over there and you were like: ‘What the hell…me?’”

Fellow Good Day LA host Dorothy Lucey told Norton that they were all big fans and that there was “mad love” in the studio for him.

Norton said: “It’s very nice to get mad love…very nice.

“It’s weird when I get here because I imagine that nobody watches me but they do…”

The mutual love fest continued when the Irishman told the presenters: “But also I love you Americans. I love it here. It’s great.

“There’s a kind of energy in America. You’re good at stuff.”
